Has it really been five months since I last posted on my blog? I know life becomes a busy adventure, but really?FIVE MONTHS?!! What have I been up to, you might ask. Well, my life has really been an adventure recently.
At the beginning of this year I spent most of my time in the local emergency room, usually on the weekends late at night. I had surgery in November of 2015 and for whatever reason, my body decided to make things worse by pushing back. I suffered from esophageal spasms regularly, which sent me to the ER almost weekly. Around the middle of February, it was discovered I had a large gallstone, coupled with esophageal spasms made for excruciating pain, and my only option was another surgery. Back I went to surgery, had my gallbladder removed, and hoped for better days. Nope! Not yet, anyway. I found myself back at the ER several times with more spasms and a gut that refused to work properly. More scopes and tests were scheduled and I spent many weeks at various doctors offices trying to discover the issue. Nothing was solved, however, my spasms did finally cease. However, it wasn't until AFTER we rescheduled our family vacation to Hawaii that the spasms disappeared. You'd think all would be well. . . NOPE!!! The same week we rescheduled our vacation, the same week my body finally recovered, is the same week we found out that Mr. R needed to have open heart surgery! WHAT?!! I know, that was my reaction too. It's true, they found a mass on the inside of one if his heart valves and the only way to have it removed was to undergo open heart surgery. He became an official member of the 'zipper club' at the age of 43 at the end of March. It was a scary time for us, but knew my ER visits were divine intervention as our Hawaii trip was scheduled to start the day the rolled Mr. R back for surgery. It's been a little over three months now and Mr. R is doing wonderful and almost back to normal function. He's still recovering, don't get me wrong. Open heart is nothing to sneeze at, but in the scheme of things, he's a rock start. If you think that concludes our eventful few months, you'd be wrong! There's more! In May of this year our oldest daughter moved back home, but she didn't move home alone. She was expecting our first grandchild on July 4th. It was a hard, emotional move, but one that we're grateful she made. With this move came many changes as well. Rearranging my office, selling extra items that no longer fit, painting rooms, refurbishing baby furniture, and getting our dear daughter, (DD) settled. Baby B made his appearance July 1st early in the morning. To say we were ecstatic is an understatement. If you think babies are fun, try having a grand baby. My world has just opened to new and exciting things. Will my life settle down now? I highly doubt it, but I can't say that I mind. I do think I'm finally getting the swing of things and I'm ready to get back in the saddle. I'm ready to put my new office space to use and get some writing done. Thank you to all my fans, friends, and supporters who've been here for it all! You all seriously rock! Read on, my friends!
